I Said What I Said
In this season of my life, it feels as though God is pulling a Nene Leakes from Atlanta Housewives on me with the statement “I said what I said” lol. I’ve been praying and asking him for a strategy, and it felt like silence, until recently, I looked back at a journal entry I wrote three years ago and realized God had already given me the strategy, but I was the one who went off course. It’s as though his response is, “I said what I said. Now go finish what you started.”
We’re often asking God for a new word, but haven’t acknowledged what he told us before.
My focus has been on everyone else’s vision except for the one God has given me.
In our human nature, it’s easy for us to get distracted and off course.
We go our own way, thinking we know what’s best.
Sometimes HE has to shake us to get us back to where we belong. Our relationship with the Heavenly Father is similar to that of our earthly parents. When we were learning how to walk, our parents gave us space to embrace our independence, but were never too far away to catch us when we tripped and fell. Our walk with God is the same way; he gives us free will, but is always near to get us back on our feet when needed.
One thing I’ve had to learn to embrace about my life is that many places I’ve landed weren’t meant for me to unpack. I’ve settled in environments that I was only supposed to pass through.
They were just assignments.
From the outside, and even to myself at times, my path appears unstable, but in essence, obedience isn’t supposed to make sense to anyone but God. I can always look back and realize why I was told to move.
Sometimes assignments are meant to either….
A. Help someone else
or
B. Offer us a lesson to prepare for the journey ahead.
The closer you get to God, the more he will give you the ability to sense when a season is beginning to transition. Remember, transitions aren’t always bad. Every person we connect with, every place we encounter, is a piece to a beautiful puzzle HE is putting together. I’ve learned to accept movement as part of my faith dance.
The season I am entering requires me to silence the outside noise and tune into HIM.
How many notes do we have in our phones and journals filled with ideas and visions for our lives that we let slip away?
Today, I charge you to go back to it. Revive it!
Any purposeful idea God has given you is not just for you but is a gift for someone else.
Even if you think it’s too late, it’s on time for someone else!
Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) - So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.
